There are a few factors to consider when looking at accelerated child development. Foremost, modern-day access to technology and the internet has exposed recent generations to more complex cognitive tasks at a younger age. This could lead to faster development in some areas.

However, this onslaught of media and technology also exposes children to adult themes via television, social media, movies, and even the ads on their games.

Many children now start consuming this media data young age. Today, it’s not uncommon for elementary school children to watch R-rated movies and play violent video games.
