3 Fall Must-Haves for Your Autumn Wardrobe

Lifestyle

15 Jul

The transition from one season to another tends to signal a drastic change in wardrobe for most people. One day you are perfectly comfortable in shorts and a light t-shirt, and the next, you find yourself fishing around the back of your wardrobe for your scarves and sweaters.

During the switch from summer to fall, you might also take the opportunity to revamp your wardrobe with all of the items you will need for the cooler temperatures. It is a great chance to take stock of what you have on hand and figure out the items that will round out your autumn wardrobe nicely this year.

If you are currently in the midst of such a project, here are three must-haves that you should include on your shopping list to have a complete fall wardrobe that is just as stylish as it is warm and weather appropriate.

1. Fancy Footwear

As with any time of year, you will want to ensure that your wardrobe is ready for any fancier events that might pop up on your calendar during the autumn months. Even though you might miss the strappy heels and sparkly sandals that you could always fall back on during spring and summer, cooler temperatures mean that you will need some nicer footwear that is warm as well as fashionable.

There are some great men’s dress shoes to choose from this fall that would complement any wardrobe perfectly. Heeled boots and close-toed heels certainly fall into the must-have category for women’s footwear.

With the right fancy footwear on hand, you will be ready for everything from holiday drinks with friends to festive fall weddings.

2. Tops for Layering

The tricky thing about dressing for fall weather is the fact that there are times when temperatures tend to creep up a bit making heavy sweaters a poor choice for the day. This is why many people turn to the concept of layering when it comes to the tops they choose for a standard autumn day.

Make sure that you stock up on lighter tops and blouses in addition to bold sweaters that will layer nicely. This way, you will be prepared for those crisp, chilly mornings and can transition your outfit seamlessly into a more mild afternoon.

3. Scarves

Stocking up on scarves for fall might seem cliché, but there is a reason why year after year, scarves make their grand appearance in the autumn months. They are simply the perfect addition to any fall outfit and will add that extra element of warmth when the temperatures dip. Furthermore, they are not so warm that you will break out in a sweat should temperatures rise a few degrees during the day.

Since scarves come in an endless variety of colours, patterns, and fabrics, you can create a look that is unique and personal to your sense of style and they can be worn in so many ways. They help to add a great deal of variety to any autumn wardrobe.
